The New Haven Terminal is strategically located to provide direct access to Interstate Highways I-91 and I-95. It is situated 75 miles northeast of New York City, 120 miles southwest of Boston, and 120 miles southeast of Albany. By water, New Haven Terminal is 68 nautical miles from New York Harbor with travel times for ships and barges ranging between 7 to 12 hours.

Bulk petroleum product moves into and out of the terminal via vessel, barge, railcar, truck and the Buckeye Pipeline (regional - approximately 85 miles northbound, New Haven, CT to Chicopee, MA). Local pipeline transfer is also available between New Haven Terminal and neighboring facilities.
